Sweatshop 血汗工厂

The Italian brand Gucci became the subject of criticism after five former employees at its Shenzhen flagship store publicly released an open letter claiming that the company was a "sweatshop". 近日，曾在深圳的意大利名牌Gucci旗舰店工作过的五名员工发表了一封公开信，控诉Gucci公司是“血汗工厂”。 文中的sweatshop就是“血汗工厂”，指的是剥削劳力的工厂，这种工厂一般工资低、工时长、工作环境恶劣，不按规定支付overtime pay（加班费），不执行minimum wage（最低工资），有时还会使用child labour（童工）。工人普遍感到遭受maltreatment（虐待）。 Sweatshop可以称为sweat factory，在台湾又称为“血尿工厂”、“惯老板”（被惯坏的企业主）。例如：He spent three years in a sweatshop before he found a decent job.（他在一家血汗工厂做了三年才找到一份像样的工作。） Flagship store指的是某品牌的“旗舰店”，是在某地区规模最大、同类产品最全、装修最豪华的商店，通常只经营一类比较成系列的产品或某一品牌的产品，而且一般位于繁华商业区，面向高收入的顾客群。
