Chiense telecom giant Huawei is reporting net profit growth of some 33-percent through last year.

The world's 2nd largest telecom equipment maker says the sharp rise in profits is mostly on the back of global demand for 4G network technology, as well as a significant increase in its own smartphone sales.
Huawei's core business, equiptment making, grew by some 16-percent last year through a series of overseas contracts in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia.
