Chinanews, Beijing, January 18 – Currently, the number of cellphone users in China has hit 449 million, according to the statistics released on the 1st China Urban Mobile Communication Forum.
China is the biggest mobile communication market (worth at least 11.2 billion yuan), with 93% of urbanites in the country having cellphones of their own, even more than the figure in many developed countries. Beijing is even more advanced in terms of mobile communication, for averagely a Beijinger has 1.2 cellphones. There are many more cellphone users than computer users in China. Many experts therefore suggest developers should compile trans-platform programmes that can make the most of the capacity of cellphones, for it is estimated that mobile e-commerce alone can create a market worth no less than 8.5 billion yuan.
