美国艺术家林-曼努尔·米兰达的作品《汉密尔顿》获2016年普利策戏剧奖。
Based on Ron Chernow's biography Alexander Hamilton, it illustrates American founding fathers and the nation's independence via rap, hip-hop, R&B and pop, and is performed by a racially diverse cast.
The Pulitzer board said Hamilton is "a landmark American musical about the gifted and self-destructive founding father whose story becomes both contemporary and irresistible."
Miranda wrote the script, music and lyrics for the show, tickets for which are always sold out at every performance.
Miranda was first nominated in 2009 for his show 'In the Heights'.
'Hamilton' has become the first musical to nab the Pulitzer Prize for Drama since 'Next to Normal'in 2010.
