Oscar-winning South Korean movie Parasite has achieved another milestone by becoming the highest-grossing non-English language film in the UK.
It grossed £528,864 on its fifth weekend, taking it to £11.5m in total – past the £11.1m of Mel Gibson’s The Passion Of The Christ from 2004.
The film is released in the UK through Curzon Artificial Eye in partnership with Studiocanal.
Its fall of 49.2% on its previous session was its biggest to date; however, it is still to fall more than 50% on any weekend.
It is the sixth highest-grossing 2020 release so far in the UK, behind 1917, Bad Boys For Life, Sonic The Hedgehog, Dolittle and The Gentlemen.
