人工智能与人类医生对决医学影像诊断技术
An AI system developed by Chinese scientists is set to compete with the country's six top radiologists in their CT&MRI image diagnosis skills for neurological diseases this month, reports the Beijing News.
中国科学家研发的AI系统本月将与国内六位顶级放射科医师在神经病CT和核磁共振影像诊断技术方面一决高下。
Called "BioMind TM," the AI system has been developed by scientists from various institutions, including the China National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases and Capital Medical University.
A first-of-its-kind in the world, the system is designed for assisting doctors in CT, MRI neural imaging diagnosis. Its diagnostic accuracy rate is said to be over 95%, which is equivalent to a high-level chief physician.
The AI-human competition is being held to test the system. Six doctors have been selected from across the country, with their showdown with their AI opponent scheduled for in late June.
According to Wang Yongjun, deputy director of China National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases, the AI system has a promising future in diagnosing neurological diseases.
"The application of artificial intelligence will free doctors from tedious, repetitive tasks, thus sparing more time for development work," said Wang.
