妻子意外死亡 美国电视制片人被拘留

Mexican police have detained a US TV producer days after he reported his wife missing from a resort in Cancun.

一位美国电视制片人因为报道其妻子在坎昆某度假胜地失踪的消息而被墨西哥警方扣留。

The couple were staying at Cancun's Moon Palace resort

Bruce Beresford-Redman, who produced the hit series Survivor, reported his 42-year-old wife, Monica, missing on Monday.

Her body was later discovered in a water tank close to their room at the luxury（奢侈的） Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort.

The couple, who arrived there on 31 March had been due to return to the US on Thursday.

The cause of Mrs Beresford-Redman's death has yet to be determined.

The attorney general for Mexico's Quintana Roo state, Francisco Alor, told the Associated Press news agency that Mr Beresford-Redman was being treated as a "person of interest（可疑人物） " rather than a suspect.

"He's the initial focus of the investigation based on their alleged turbulent（骚乱的，混乱的） relationship," Mr Alor said.
