华裔寿司师傅做出运动鞋寿司

If you're a sushi chef, churning out hundreds of California rolls a day probably gets old fast. One sushi chef is changing the game by shaping his offerings into some of today's most popular athletic shoes.

如果你是一位寿司师傅,那么每天机械制作几百个加州卷的工作可能快要落伍了。一位寿司师傅在打破陈规,将寿司做成了时下最流行的运动鞋。

Chef Yujia Hu, 28, is the Milan-based mastermind behind what has been dubbed 'shoe-shi', edible pieces of sushi that looks just like mini trendy sneakers.

The Chinese-born chef began crafting shoe-shi earlier this year (the first piece appeared on his Instagram in late January), and the concept has already earned him a loyal following.

Hu, who is also the owner and chef of the restaurant Sakana Sushi Milano, said that his culinary influences are many. An appreciation for NBA basketball, along with a love of Milan's distinct street style, made sneakers the perfect subject matter for Hu's sculptural sushi.

Thus far, Hu has tackled iconic footwear brands like Adidas, Vans, Nike, and even Kanye West's Yeezy label.

A piece of Hu's sushi is completely edible, as its crafted from rice, seaweed, and pieces of raw fish, such as salmon and tuna.
