马略卡岛直升机失事 两英国人丧生

Two British nationals have been killed in a helicopter crash in Majorca, the Foreign Office has said.

英国外交部称，两名英国国民在马略卡岛的一场直升飞机失事中丧生。

A spokeswoman said the accident happened on Saturday but gave no further details, adding that formal identification needed to take place.

"We have offered consular（领事的） assistance to the family," she said.

Local police said the helicopter crashed between Andratx and Estellecs on the south-west tip of the island, according to the AFP news agency.

Forest fire

Jose Luis Montoya, a spokesman for Majorca's Emergency Services, was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying: "We received several calls at around 11.10am from witnesses saying they had seen a helicopter crash down in flames in a wooded area.

"Firefighters, paramedics（护理人员） and police officers were immediately sent to the scene."

The helicopter had been flying over wooded terrain in Coll de Sa Gramola.

The crash caused a small forest fire, destroying a quarter of an acre of woodland before it was put out, reports said.

The area is noted for its impressive mountain views.
