克里斯塔尔成世界上年龄最大的在世者
Guinness World Records has confirmed Israel Kristal as the world's oldest person.
吉尼斯世界纪录已确认以色列人克里斯塔尔为世界上年龄最大的人。
Kristal, aged 112, was born in Poland in September 1903 and is now living the Israeli city of Haifa.
According to Guinness, he lived through both World Wars and survived slave labor at Nazi concentration camps.
Haim Kristal, his son puts down his father's longevity to a strong personality.
"My father is very, a person, very optimistic. When he saw a glass with half water, he is very pleased with the half of water that is full. He never sees half who is empty, he never see."
Official documents from the Gerontology Research Group and Jewish Records Indexing in Poland helped confirm the world record.
The previous record holder was Yasutaro Koide, from Japan, who died in January 2016. He was also aged 112.
