世界上最高、最长的玻璃桥将于8月20日对公众开放。
According to the management committee, the glass bridge over the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in central China's Hunan Province, under construction for over four years, has already passed load tests and will open for a trial run.
During trial operation, the glass bridge will receive no more than 8,000 tourists per day, and a maximum of 600 people will be allowed to cross the bridge at a time. The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon scenic spot will welcome up to 10,000 tourists daily during this period of time.
Tourists need to book their visits a day in advance.
The 430-meter long, 6-meter wide bridge, paved with 99 panes of three-layer transparent glasses, hangs between two steep cliffs 300 meters above the ground.
The glass bridge has set ten world records for its design and construction, according to the committee.
The construction of the glass bridge was completed in December 2015.
