澳洲男子用乐高玩具还原庞贝古城

Ryan McKnight spent a staggering 470 hours recreating the historic town of Pompeii entirely from Lego.

瑞安·麦克奈特花费长达470小时,用乐高玩具还原出历史古城庞贝。

McKnight who's been nicknamed 'The Brickman' whiled away the equivalent of nearly three weeks (we assume that's excluding toilet breaks etc.) to make the model for the Sydney University's Nicholson Museum, which it claims is the largest Lego version of Pompeii, ever.

The replica contains more than 190,000 bricks and will be used as an aid for local high school and university students studying Roman and ancient history.

It mixes details showing how the city would have looked in 79AD – just before Mount Vesuvius famously erupted – as well as when it was rediscovered again in the 1748.

Apparently, you can even spot Doctor Who and his Tardis among its landmarks. Hmm, it's not all historically accurate then.

As you can probably guess, this isn't Mcknight's first foray into mammoth Lego creations – the University has previously commissioned him to make a Lego Acropolis and a Lego version of the Colosseum in Rome.
