杭州某幼儿园将开设哲学课
A kindergarten in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, plans to teach children philosophy next year, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.
《钱江晚报》报道,杭州的一家幼儿园计划明年开设哲学课。
As philosophy usually enters Chinese curriculum at high school level, parents were unsure whether their children will be capable of understanding the subject at such a young age.
Responding to their concerns, Gao Zhenyu, instructor of the module and expert in children philosophy, told parents that unlike the philosophy taught to high school students, for such young children it will be more related to philosophical problems in daily life.
Gao said the program will introduce children to philosophy via picture books, lead them to ask questions and help them to initiate a philosophical discussion.
The topics may include "Jealousy - I don't want mother to have a second child," "Know yourself - why should I go to school?" "Society -Must you agree with others' opinions?" and even death, according to a spokesperson for the kindergarten.
The kindergarten has also designed supporting courses for parents and teachers to help them to respect and lead the children in exploring the world.
