春运火车票退票将收手续费
Service fees will be charged from today for train ticket refunds during the Chinese Spring Festival travel period, which starts from February 4 to March 16 this year, according to the Beijing Youth Daily.
《北京青年报》报道，春运期间的火车票退票将从今天开始征收手续费。今年春运从2月4日开始至3月16日结束。
The railway authorities issued a new policy last year that train tickets can be available 60 days in advance instead of 30 days as in the previous years, and tickets can also be refunded 15 days before the train departs without any service charge.
However, many passengers cannot arrange their trips two months ahead, thus they have hoarded more tickets. Most will not return the unwanted tickets until they are sure of their travel time.
The rush period to return the tickets ahead of the festival also begins today.
Railway authorities want to remind people that migrant passengers who don't get tickets, should pay attention to the official ticket-selling website, 12306.cn, to buy returned tickets.
