德国亚马逊员工罢工三天

Workers in online retailer Amazon's warehouses in Germany have started a three-day strike, asking for higher pay and better working conditions.

网络零售商亚马逊德国仓库的员工开始为期三天的罢工,要求提供更高的薪水与更好的工作环境。

More than two thousand workers in five of Amazon's nine German warehouses participated in the strike.

Labor union Verdi, the organizer of the action, says the strike will extend to six warehouses later today and last until evening shift on Wednesday.

Workers in Amazon warehouses argued that they received lower wages than others in retail and mail-order jobs.

But Amazon was only willing to regard the workers as logistic staff and insisted that it had offered wages above the industry average.

The strike comes as consumers in Germany order gifts for Christmas.

Amazon, which employs more than 9-thousand full-time workers in Germany, insists that the strike will not disturb its business and customers can expect punctual deliveries.
