Chinese telecommunication companies and device suppliers have already presented some new products that have incorporated 5G-related technology.
China Mobile vice president Li Huidi says they are trying to speed things up.
"We are to push the evolution to from 4G to 5G and push forward the process of standard formulation, product development and experimental tests. Our aim is to achieve the commercialization of 5G technology by 2020."
