蒙牛带青少年队员参加世界杯表演赛

China's leading dairy company and World Cup sponsor Mengniu is bringing a junior team of 88 young Chinese players to the World Cup field in Russia, reports Financial Times.
 
《金融时报》报道,中国乳制品公司、世界杯赞助商蒙牛将带领一队88名青少年足球运动员参加俄罗斯世界杯表演赛。
 
 
Mengniu is aiming to select 88 football-loving Chinese teenagers to make up the Mengniu World Cup junior team. Several international football stars were invited to the match, giving the teenagers the chance to be cheered on by some of their idols.
 
The young players will be trained and selected by four Chinese star coaches, and the team will participate in training matches and play games with star players during the World Cup.
 
Zhang Yong, vice president of strategic management at Mengniu, said that by bringing young Chinese players to the World Cup field, the company helps to promote China's image to the world. Fan Zhiyi, one of the coaches, said that the youngsters would be a highlight of this year's World Cup.
 
Mengniu is the first dairy company that sponsors the FIFA World Cup and is the first Chinese food and beverage brand to become a FIFA World Cup sponsor. In recent years, an increasing number of Chinese brands have sponsored leading world sport events like the Olympic Games, the World Cup, and the European Cup.
