中韩达成双边贸易协定

China and South Korea have concluded negotiations on a bilateral free trade agreement on the sidelines of the ongoing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his ROK counterpart Park Geun-hye witnessed the signing of the minutes here in Beijing on Monday.
 
The agreement will cover 17 areas including trade in goods and services, investment and trade rules, and topics such as e-commerce and government procurement.

"We welcome our country's effectiveness in reaching a free trade agreement with our largest trading partner China. The FTA with China, which is the number one trading country and the second largest economy in the world, will be the growth engine of our industry and economy."
 
China and the South Korea officially launched FTA talks in May 2012.
 
Over 90 percent of goods traded will enjoy zero tariffs, accounting for more than 85 percent of the bilateral trade value.
 
The Chinese Commerce Ministry says the FTA is the most wide-ranging and affects the most trade volume compared to any other FTA China has signed.
 
Xi jinping said the agreement is a milestone in regional integration.
