阿根廷购买200节中国产列车车厢
Chinese railway giant CRRC has signed a contract worth 278 million U.S. dollars with Argentina's Ministry of Transport to provide 200 new subway cars, CRRC has announced through its official Wechat account.
中国中车在其官方微信号上宣布,该公司与阿根廷交通部签署一份价值2.78亿美元的合同,将向阿根廷提供200节列车车厢。
The delivery of the 200 Chinese-produced carriages are set to be put into service on Buenos Aires' busiest metro line, the Roca Line, by the middle of 2019.
The purchase is part of a broader plan to upgrade Argentina's commuter system by modernizing its aging infrastructure.
709 carriages made by CRRC have already been put into service on Buenos Aires' Roca, Sarmiento and Mitre lines.
Surveys show 97% Argentinian passengers are happy with the Chinese-produced locomotives, suggesting they appreciate the advanced equipment and technology.
