埃及总统塞西特赦100名囚犯
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has pardoned 100 prisoners, including an al-Jazeera TV journalist from Canada.
埃及总统阿卜杜勒-法塔赫·塞西特赦了100名囚犯，其中包括来自加拿大的卡达尔半岛电视台记者。
This comes ahead of al-Sisi's trip to New York for the 70th session of the U.N. General Assembly.
Al Jazeera reporter Mohamed Fahmy says this marks the end of a long ordeal for him.
"We're going to travel the world, we're going to celebrate, we're going to party, and we just really hope that this is, our families have suffered so much since the beginning of this trial, and we're very happy that President Sisi took this action and released us."
Fahmy, along with 2 other Al Jazeera journalists, were sentenced to 3-years in prison in a retrial last month on charges of operating without a press license and broadcasting material harmful to Egypt.
