德国总理默克尔号召民众理解和支持政府采取的各种限制措施,共同抗击新冠肺炎疫情。
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is urging all citizens to help fight the spread of the coronavirus by sticking to the latest rules.
Merkel called on people to stick to the latest rules aimed at reducing direct social contact and avoiding new infections as much as possible.
"It is serious, take it seriously! Not since German reunification, no, not since WW2 has there been such a challenge to our country that so much relies on our universal solidarity."
Merkel made the remarks in a televised speech.
Her address to the nation marks the first time in nearly 15 years in office that she has spoken to the country other than in her annual New Year's address.
So far, Germany has more than 10-thousand confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus.
