NBA legend, Chinese basketball player Yao Ming has been elected as president of Asian Basketball Confederation as part of a meeting of the ABC congress in Bangalore, India.

Yao Ming has also been elected as a member of the central committee of the ABC.
Yao is a retired professional basketball player who played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He remains committed to basketball even in retirement, as he is currently the president of the Chinese Basketball Association.
