法国总统弗朗索瓦·奥朗德对古巴进行国事访问。

Meeting with Cuban officials, Hollande says the French government is going to do all it can to help the Cuban economy, now that US sanctions on Cuba are being lifted.

"I come here in a very important though uncertain context. France will do all it can to make way for those new decisions, the opening, to be confirmed and for the measures, that were so harmful for Cuba's development, to be brought to an end, cancelled, withdrawn, so that each country is respected for their identity," says Hollande.

Hollande has also overseen the signing of a number of bilateral agreements.

He's also met with Cuba's First Vice-President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, who's widely expected to succeed President Raul Castro when he steps down.

Hollande also took time out to meet with former Cuban President Fidel Castro.
