An old hunter 老猎人
An old hunter moved to a new place. He got lost in the wood several times. A friend told him to buy a pocket compass and explained its use to him. But the soon got lost again and stayed out.
When he was found and asked why he did not use the compass, he said: "It was very difficult to deal with. I wished to go north and tried hard to make the thing point north. But it wasn't any use. It would shake, shake right round, and point south-east every time."
有个老猎人迁到一个新地方。他在森林里迷路了好几次。一个朋友告诉他去买个小指南针，还给他讲了怎么用，可是，他很快就又迷路了，在森林里出不来。
当他被找到时，问他为什么不用指南针引路时，他说：“这玩意儿太难对付了。我想向北走，就竭力把这个东西拨到指向北方。可是一点用都没有。它会晃动起来，每次都要晃上一圈，然后又指向东南方了。”
